catching up

yes, i read the blog! usually the last 20 at a time... comments: the teeth-behind-teeth are a family thing. most of my baby teeth had to be encouraged to make way for the adults already putting in appearances. the hot weather here has stopped and suddenly it's cool enough for some leaves to start changing colour (whine). Yes, we had a girl! Charlotte Lilianna Storm Jones. We obviously tried to pick a name that would teach her most of the letters of the alphabet. Does anyone else have children that can be wiggly and noisy and immediately drop into profound slumber in any position? it's not narcolepsy no matter what Allison says. We blessed her at church last Sunday (Charlotte, not Allison). It was nice to have the Surdus there, and Teeny Sven, too. So far Charlotte has been camping, hiking in the mountains, picking rasberries, and napping at home in her own bed. I'm partial to the last one, personally. She is a good baby, much more alert than Mary was. My major goal each day is to get the 2 little girls napping at the same time after lunch. That and laundry. We got a new-to-us van last month that has a VHS player built in. Now we can't go 3 minutes to Grandma Jones house without putting in a video. I hope the novelty wears off soon. The older 3 kids are gone to their Mom's for the month of August. They are going to Las Vegas for their Aunt's wedding this week and then to California to Disneyland the next week. Kinda nice having someone else pay for the big vacations! The house is sooooo quiet, and Mary is bored. I'm taking advantage of the break by deep cleaning kids bedrooms to the degree I think is necessary. Should probably take the whole month!
